These pieces are made from slices of a silver maple log. They are 24" to 28" in diameter, and 3" thick. The beautiful star-shaped heartwood is quite eye-catching. The rounds come completely finished and ready to use. They have been kiln-dried, then flattened and sande, also the large checks caused by drying have been removed from them.
